2026 Teacher Fellowship
This is meant to be a one-year fellowship you can do alongside your job as an educator 🍎. With that in mind, we’ve designed programming to enrich your career 💼 and further your professional development without overloading your schedule.
We expect the fellowship to require about 40 hours ⏱️ of professional programming (about 25 hours will be in-person), plus your ambassador project 🌟.
The commitment will include viewing recorded lectures or readings 📖, an in-person training 🏫, and quarterly video calls 💻 with the other fellows.
In order to qualify for the Fellowship program, you must be available for in-person training at the University of Maryland July 21 at 5pm ET - July 24 at Noon ET
COMMITMENT
The 2026 Teacher Fellowship is a one-year program meticulously designed to fit the busy lives of active educators. Our goal is to provide high-level professional growth and career enrichment without overwhelming your existing schedule.
Program Requirements
To successfully complete the fellowship and receive the $1,000 stipend, participants are expected to dedicate approximately 40 hours to professional programming. This commitment is broken down into the following components:
In-Person Intensive: A mandatory training session held at the University of Maryland from July 21 (5 PM ET) to July 24 (Noon ET). This core experience accounts for roughly 25 hours of the total program.
Preparatory Work: Completion of approximately 10 hours of foundational readings and on-demand video lectures prior to the summer training.
Virtual Collaboration: Participation in three out of four quarterly video calls to maintain connection and share insights with your fellow cohort members.
Ambassador Project: The development and execution of an individual project—such as a conference presentation or new curriculum—that promotes economic or personal finance literacy in your community.
Pre-Reading & On-Demand Training (10 hours)
Participants read excerpts from Economics in One Lesson and other selected readings and articles. This responsibility can be completed at your leisure prior to our in-person training.
In-Person Training (July 21 - 24)
All fellows must attend an all-expense paid in person training at the University of Maryland July 21 at 5pm ET - July 24 at Noon ET. Presenters include: College Faculty, Business Leaders, FEE President Diogo Costa, and the Learning Center team. Fellows will grow their content knowledge and pedagogical skill.
Virtual Training (4 hours)
Fellows must attend 3 of 4 quarterly virtual sessions throughout the year.
Ambassador Project (Varies)
Each fellow will complete an ambassador project that furthers economic or personal finance education. This could include presenting at a local conference, curriculum development, etc.
